Our Fairytale Engagement Photoshoot

Wedding and engagement photos were something that I really put at the top of my priority list when starting to plan our wedding. Pictures are one of the only tangible items that help you remember the special day. Also Richie doesn’t like taking photos with me so this was a sure fire way of me making sure we had some great pictures that he had to agree to!

My process for finding a wedding photographer was pretty simple, I started with Instagram. My advice when you are scrolling through wedding pictures really look for the vibe you want and chose the photographer off of that. Each photographer has their own style and you just have to find one that matches yours. While I was looking I found a lot of what I didn’t want. I didn’t want something that was a little too washed out and I didn’t want the more orange tone that is really in right now. Neither of which is bad btw! It’s just not my vibe.

One day I was talking with Richie and was describing what I wanted and he brought up that we went to college with an excellent photographer named Lindsay. I had completely forgotten that she did weddings! I reached out to her and the rest was history! I fell so in love with her style of simple and natural color editing. She does so many detail shots which is very important to me because I want everything to be captured.

Onto choosing the location of the engagement photoshoot. I found this place called Kimberly Crest and knew it was PERFECT! Of course you know I love everything fairytale-esque, so a place that looks like a castle was just a dream come true. I came up with the idea of us dressing up and having a fairytale moment.

Now when I brought this place and idea up to Richie I was completely prepared to get shot down but surprisingly he said YES to the idea! I mean do I have a good man or what?!

Lindsay was completely amazing through the whole planning process, she even helped me pick the best color for the dress I wore for the shoot.

The pictures came out better than I even imagined they would! My best advice is find a photographer that you can have fun with and can capture your vision. Lindsay absolutely nailed it! Thank you so so much girl! I am so excited for you to shoot our wedding 🤍
